We get a lot of calls looking for advice on how best to deal with pet soiling. How to keep costs down during this process is something we get asked about a lot too. So we’ll cover both.
In order to best eliminate pet soiling issues as much as possible :
- Deinstall carpet
- Remove pad from affected areas
- Apply a product like KILZ Max to subfloor
- Install new pad and reinstall carpet.
In order to save money during this process, you can perform all steps except for final one yourself. It might even be cheaper for you to purchase replacement padding yourself too. Depends on what exact padding you need, and total amount of padding needed.
